Copperhead: Remedy - Copperhead is an extremely talented band and back it up with a very good sophomore CD. "Remedy" starts out rockin' with a couple cool songs "On My Own" and "Bringing The Hammer Down". With the road house like vocals of Jeff Williams combined with cool and mean guitar licks of Gabe Dixon along with Aaron Balderas on bass and Chris Hodges on drums create a tight cool sound that is a little country, a little rock that results in just plain good original music. There is also a very cool cover of the Bob Wills tune "Stay A Little Longer" that also features Matt Martindale of Cooder Graw. This is a very good CD from a band that should definitely going places.

Bleu Edmondson: One Voice The Live Album - Finally Bleu has a live CD that captures his high energy shows. Recorded at three locations across Texas: Gruene Hall in Gruene, The Sidecar Pub in Houston, and The Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas.  This CD has all the classic Bleu songs as well as great covers like Jimmie Dale Gilmore's song "Dallas," Uncle Tupelo's "I Got Drunk" and Brandon Jenkins' "Finger On The Trigger".  Trust me when you listen to this CD you will feel like you are right there at a Bleu Edmondson show. A great Live CD!!! A must for any Bleu fan or music fan in general.

Brandon Rhyder: Conviction - This is a great CD! Brandon is one of the great up and coming songwriters out there. His songs are so well written and with so much depth. I would put his song writing up there with the likes of Walt Wilkins. This CD will leave you at a lose for words. "Conviction" is such an enjoyable CD to listen to and will leave you in awe. I highly recommend this CD to anyone that enjoys listening to music that speaks and moves you. One of the best CDs of 2005!

Ryan Turner: Rollin' Up My Sleeves - One of the best debut CDs I have ever heard! Ryan is definitely extremely talented. He has developed a great country sound mixed with a tad of rock n' roll. This CD has a good mix of rockin' country songs like "My Days My Way," "Julie's Gonna Dance," and "Rollin' Up My Sleeves," to the great ballads like "She's No Amy," "Would You Run," and "What's It Gonna Be". If you have not heard of Ryan Turner you will be hearing a lot of him in the future. The question is, “Do you want to be the person being told about him or the person telling people about him?” Trust me Ryan will be the next big Texas Music artist, but don't just take my word on it; buy this CD and judge for yourself. Trust me you won't be disappointed!!!!

Cory Morrow: Nothing Left To Hide - After nearly 3 years since his last full studio album, Cory's back, finally, with a new studio album.  This one is probably his best and definitely worth the wait. Producer Keith Gattis (Dwight Yokam's guitarist and producer of Waylon Payne's great album) helps in bringing together a great sound.  This CD shows Cory's growth as a songwriter with some really in depth songs. A CD packed full of great songs with in my opinion no bad songs on it. Some of my favorites include "Good Intentions," "Restless Girl," "Beat of Your Heart," "Best Low," "My Way Home," and "Choices," just to name a few; but it is really hard to pick favorites because they are all good. This is a must have CD for any Cory fan, as well as music lovers in general. Go buy this CD today you won't regret it!!

Rodney Crowell: The Outsider - Man, this is a great CD! The name of the CD says it all!  This CD is out there so to speak, with cool mix rock and country and some edgy lyrics, which is what I think makes it such a great CD. It also shows that Rodney is not afraid to lay it out there on what he thinks.  Songs like "The Obscenity Prayer," "Say You Love Me," and "Don't Get Me Started" show that. John Prine and Emmylou Harris are guest speakers on "Ignorance Is The Enemy."  Emmylou Harris also sings a duet on "Shelter From The Sun."  "The Outsider" is one of the best CDs of the year and a must have for your CD collection.

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals: Jacksonville City Nights - Ryan Adams' second CD of the year and it is another great album. "Jacksonville City Nights" is a hard-core country CD. Just like the last CD "Cold Roses" this is full of great songs like "The Hardest Part," "A Kiss Before I Go," "The End," and "Trains" just to name a few. The CD also includes a great duet with Nora Jones on "Dear John."  Ryan Adams has made great CD after great CD and this is just another to add to his list. This isn't even the last CD of the year for him; a third CD is supposed to be coming out toward the end of the year. I can't wait.

John Prine: Fair & Square - John Prine, one of the great song writing poets of all time, is at it again with his new CD "Fair & Square."  This is classic John Prine with witty cleaver song writing at its best. Songs like "Crazy As A Loon," "Some Humans Ain't Humans," "Other Side Of Town," and "Long Monday" are a few songs only he could write. This is soon to be another classic John Prine CD. If you are a John Prine fan and have not gotten this CD yet, shame on you.  If you have not heard of John Prine, go buy this CD; and you will become a fan. Great CD!!

Shooter Jennings: Put The O Back In Country -  While Shooter is the son of outlaw country legend Waylon Jennings. He is making a name for himself, with great music. This is Shooter's debut solo album. Songs like "4th Of July, "Busted in Baylor County", "Manifesto No. 1" , and "Southern Comfort" show the diversity in his music and that he going to make music his way. This is a must buy CD!

Reckless Kelly: Wicked Twisted Road -  Reckless Kelly's follow up to their last CD "Under The Table And Above The Sun" which received top reviews by everyone. While "Wicked Twisted Road" has been received some mixed reviews, but we think it is a GREAT CD!!!! It is different than the last CD but every bit as good. While this CD isn't full of rocking up tempo songs it shows RK's greatness with the variety on songs like "Baby's Got A Whole Lot More" and "Seven Nights in Eire" to "Sixgun" and "Nobody Haunts Me Like You". With this CD RK has just taken another step in proving thier greatness. If you havn't picked up your copy, what are you waiting for? Starkey Johnson Band: Barnburner -  The Starkey Johnson Band, which was started by Gary Starkey (lead vocals/guitar) and Bryan Johnson (harmony vocals/drums), hit a home run with the release of their second album "Barnburner". This CD provides a very good blend of southern rock with a little country. Behind the lead vocals and songwriting of Gary Starkey and backed by a talented band this CD rocks from start to finish. While relatively unknown band this CD shows they are a band that won't be for long. To purchase your copy of "Barnburner" visit their web site www.starkeyjohnsonband.com

Robert Earl Keen: What I Really Mean -  Robert Earl Keen like wine seems to be getting finer with age. This CD is Robert's take on what country music should sound like. Let me tell you this is a great CD. With songs like "For Love", "What I Really  Mean", "The Wild Ones" and "Ride" (co-written by Bill Whitbeck) shows the great songwriting talents he has. While songs like "Mr. Wolf And Mommabear", "The Great Hank" (which is his take on mainstream country music) and "A Border Tragedy" (which feature a guest appearance by legendary Ray Price) showcase his famous storytelling talents. While it is hard sometimes hard to determine what is REK's best album, this one definitely ranks at the top. This is a must for any Robert Earl Keen or country music fan to have!

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals: Cold Roses -  Ryan Adams, one of the most talented musicians of our time, is out with another great album. "Cold Roses" is a double disc album with 9 songs on each CD. It is full of great songs like "Magnolia Mountain", "When Will You Come Back Home", "Let It Ride", and "Cherry Lane" to name a few. This a great CD and a most have for all true music lovers. Rumor has it Ryan is coming out with another CD in the fall. If it any thing like this one I can't wait.

Rodger Wilko: Rodger Wilko -  This is by far Rodger Wilko's best CD and one of the best CD of the year! While the sound is a little different than what Rodger Wilko fans may be used to, however the new sound is smokin'. While Zack Walther and Stephanie Briggs still alternate singing songs they all blend together. "With You In Rome" and "All Over Texas" highlight this great CD. This CD shows their talent and that they continue to grow musically. Look for big things from Rodger Wilko in the future. If you have not ordered your copy, then order one today because people will be talking about this CD.

John Evans: Circling The Drain -  This is a great rock CD. Circling The Drain starts out rocking with "Quicksand" and doesn't let up. "House Of Cards" and "Take Me Away" are my favorites on this great CD. However this CD is full of finely written and composed songs. John Evans' voice reminds me a little of Buddy Holly. This CD is a must for any music lover.

Cooder Graw: Wake Up -  Three years and finally we have a new studio album from Cooder Graw, and this is one of their best yet. While it’s still “loud country” their songs and sound have grown and matured so to speak. During the three years since their last studio album they made some changes, new drummer Kelly Test and fiddle player Nick Worley. On the hidden track they do a great job covering Ryan Adam’s song “Come Pick Me Up”

Patrick Davis: Chances Are-  You may not have heard of Patrick Davis, but I am telling you, you need to hear him. This is a great CD. He combines the southern rock n’ roll with a little country to form a great sound. Patrick’s songwriting is also first class. With this CD containing 10 original songs and a cover of the great Gram Parson’s song “Ooh Las Vegas,” go pick one up today before everyone else catches on.
