This is the best recording I have ever been apart of, and I’m extremely proud of it.” Death of Rodger: Vol. 1 has guest performances from Susan Gibson, Kim Deschamps, and a duet with Claire Cunningham on a re-recorded “Wrapped for Me.” Release date for Death of Rodger: Vol. 1 is set for September 19th, 2006. From an early age, Zack Walther knew the center stage spotlight was where he wanted to be. Participating in competitive school choirs, both intermediate and collegiate, revealed to Zack his passion and talent for music. Eventually, this passion lead Zack to reach higher levels, and he soon found himself determined on the rough road of an aspiring performing musician.

At the age of thirteen, Zack bought his first guitar and began playing with long time friend and former band mate Matthew Briggs. What started out as a garage band project eventually lead to various bands of all different genres ranging from alternative rock to country. As Zack continued to grow and mature in his music endeavors, he began a new adventure into songwriting. His experiences with so many different musical styles helped form the unique and attractive writing styles Zack executes today.

While attending Southwest Texas State University, Zack and Matthew teamed up with Stephanie Macious-Briggs to form the band Rodger Wilko. They recorded three albums of award worthy material, and developed a loyal fan base throughout Texas and Oklahoma. During this time, Zack’s original song “Too Far From Home,” from the album Homemade, was awarded “Song of the Year” by MyTexasMusic.com. After years of being together, Rodger Wilko decided to separate and approach the music world in two different directions.
